Bosch Dishwasher Repair in Naperville

Bosch dishwashers are quiet, efficient and built to last, but they fail in their own particular ways. Here’s what goes wrong, what the codes mean, and what a repair involves.

Quick answer

We repair every Bosch dishwasher series, from the 100 to the Benchmark, plus Thermador, which comes from the same maker. The most common Bosch problems are leaks caught by the AquaStop sensor (E15), drain blockages (E24 and E25), heating faults (E09) and keypad failures on panel-ready models. Have your model number and any E-code ready when you call.

Bosch series we repair

SeriesWhat to know
100 and 300Entry and mid models, common in builder-grade and remodeled kitchens
500Adds features like a third rack and better drying
800 and BenchmarkTop models, including CrystalDry and many panel-ready versions with controls on the top edge of the door
ThermadorBuilt by the same company (BSH), with shared parts and codes

Bosch error codes

CodeMeaningWhat to try first
E15Water in the base pan; AquaStop shut it downFind the leak before clearing the code. Draining the base hides the problem but doesn’t fix it
E24Drain blocked: hose, filter or disposal connectionClean the filter; check the drain hose under the sink and the disposal
E25Drain pump cover or impeller obstructedRemove the filter, then check under the small pump cover for glass or seeds
E22Filter blockedClean the filters at the bottom of the tub
E09Heating faultNeeds a technician; on many models the heater is part of the circulation pump
E27 / E90Power-supply problem, not the dishwasher itselfCommon after outages; reset the breaker and call if it returns

Codes and their exact meaning can vary by series, so confirm in the manual for your model number.

Common Bosch problems

Leaks and E15

Bosch’s AquaStop system has a float in the base pan. When water reaches it, the dishwasher stops and shows E15. Common sources: too many suds from the wrong detergent, a worn door seal, a loose hose connection, or a pump seal. Fix the source, then dry the base pan. See dishwasher leaking.

Not draining, E24 and E25

Bosch dishwashers have no food grinder, so anything that gets past the filter can lodge in the drain pump. Glass shards, olive pits and seeds are the classic culprits. A clean filter and a clear drain hose fix many E24s; a jammed or failed pump causes E25. See dishwasher not draining.

Not heating or drying, E09

Cold, wet dishes with an E09 point to the heating circuit. On many Bosch models the heater is built into the circulation pump assembly, so the repair is replacing that assembly rather than a separate element.

Buttons not responding

On panel-ready models the controls sit on the top edge of the door, where steam hits them every cycle. Over the years, moisture can get into the keypad and the buttons stop working or the dishwasher starts by itself.

Bosch filter care

Because there’s no grinder, the Bosch filter does all the work. Twist it out of the bottom of the tub and rinse it about once a month, more often if you load heavily soiled dishes. A clean filter prevents the most common Bosch drain and cleaning complaints.

Panel-ready Bosch and Thermador

Many Naperville kitchens, especially remodels, hide a Bosch or Thermador behind a cabinet panel. The panel has to come off for some repairs and go back on straight, with the reveal matching the cabinets around it. If the dishwasher shifts when you open the door, its brackets have likely pulled loose from the countertop; that gets re-secured as part of the visit.

What Bosch repairs cost

The diagnostic is the same [FEE] as any brand and is credited to the repair. Bosch parts can cost more than budget-brand parts, but Bosch dishwashers are also worth repairing longer. Our Naperville prices: drain pump [PRICE], heater pump [PRICE], door seal [PRICE], control or keypad [PRICE]. See dishwasher repair cost and is it worth repairing?.

Bosch: common questions

How do I clear E15 on a Bosch?

Turn off the power and water, find and fix the leak, then dry the base pan. Some people tilt the dishwasher to drain the pan, which clears the code but not the leak, so it comes back. If you can’t find the source, book a diagnosis.

Why is my Bosch dishwasher not draining?

Usually a clogged filter, a blocked drain hose or disposal connection (E24), or something jammed in the drain pump (E25). Clean the filter first.

Is it worth repairing a Bosch dishwasher?

Usually yes. Bosch dishwashers last well and cost more to replace, so most repairs make sense up to about 10 years old, and longer for the 800 and Benchmark series.

Do you repair Thermador dishwashers?

Yes. Thermador is made by the same company as Bosch, and the parts and codes are closely related.

How do I reset a Bosch dishwasher?

On many models, press and hold Start for about 3 seconds to cancel and drain, or turn off the breaker for a few minutes. Check your manual, as the button varies by series.
